Default anij v Nat West ***WON***

This is interesting I applied for my transaction details in July for one account and June for the second. Natwesticon responded as close to the 40 day limit as they could with statements [although a full year are still missing]. Anyway since then they have only applies £ 28 at the end of August in charges although my account has had a couple of over 'slip ups'.

So far I calculate over £1000 in charges in 4 years! Incredible.

Red face Re: NatWest no charges applied since request for transactions details

hi i have noticed that the bank have been more 'helpful' too. i use internet banking a lot and transfer cash between accounts which shows available immediatley - i can go and draw cash right away from the cash machine, however its not there when a direct debiticon is applied for? My point is, i had a direct debit coming out yesterday, and the usual monthly bank charges were added to my account which meant the dd would have been short by about 5.00. some 'helpful' person at the bank transferred 20.00 into the joint account (from my husbands account - without asking) to cover the dd. (which incidently didnt bounce when they do it. but does bounce when i do exactly the same thing on line) i wonder what its all about. have also had a letter from the bank asking if we would like to come in and discuss our account.... unless they are going to pay up I DONT THINK SO...........
    good luck

Yes that seems to hasppen a lot with Natwesticon. I get my child benefit paid in on a Saturday and can draw on it straight away, if the account shows a DD to be paid on the Monday however they chasge me £38 as they say the funds are not available to pay it as they must be in at least 24 hours before. Rather odd don't you think. I have challenged them about this a number of times. How can the money be available if I want cash or to use my debit card but not to pay a DD that is not due for two days incredible.

Nothing seems to of happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI insurance has been sorted now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.
