Hi everyone... i have sent A&L the letter to get back my charges via email fair play they got ack to me within 24 hours.... the thing is they say they are NOT paying chtages back due to me agreeing to them in the first place via contract signed when joined????? what can i do next??? i want to issue court letter but i have no credit card and i am claiming incapacity benefit at the moment so i'm skint???? what can i do??? please help...also A&L told me to ring them? what can i say to them? should i just say i will issue a letter stating i will take them to court?
even though they have told you they are not paying you have you sent them the letter before action ? also have you stuck to the time limit you stated ? you have to apply for court charges to be waivered so take proof of what benefits you are recieving when you go to apply.
If you read the FAQ's it will give you more information also on the moneyclaim site it explains how to proceed with your claim if you do not need to pay.
As far as ringing them 1 why should you pay to talk to them when they could easily ring you 2 if they do ring tell them that you prefer to deal with this in writing OR inform them that you are recording the call and record it.
i've had a very nasty letter this morning from A&L, they are now charging me a further £225.09 on top of the £446.00, they have already charged since Dec 05, cos i was 1.26 OD can you believe them, they have said in the letter if i do not put the money into my account in the next 5 days then a debt collector will call to my home, to collect the money and also further charges WILL APPLY, and they cannot and will not make any adjustmenst to the account. So i am sending another letter now for more charges back £671.09 now and boy am ready for them, they seem to be making things worse for themselves. I'll keep you all updated
They actually think they are putting the frighteners on you!!
Ha, ha - it makes me giggle just to think about it.

Yup, I surely can...had some similar stupidity from them just this morning, despite the fact that they know without any doubt whatsover that a summons is going out in 4 days time....
When they finally pay me, itll be just like the ads say..
Car repairs;£100
Taking my wife out:£250 donation to good cause£20-50
Tickets for the Rolling Stones£200
But the look on my banks face when I wipe the floor with them....( i am being very polite here)
PRICELESS

I would tell them that to kindly put a hold on any action against you while your account charges are in dispute...
besides, don't the debt collection legally have to make contact with you first and give you so many days before coming round? Scare tactic most likely!
