I want those credit card charges back ! - every penny !
I've just been made aware of all this being able to reclaim credit card charges thing by a colleague of mine who has been successful twice with two claims he has made.
I am about to start my own claim against Capital One for charges on a credit card I have had with them since 2001.
There have been £120 worth of charges in the past 12 months ......God knows what it will be for the past 6 years.
Does anybody know the best address to send my Data Protection S.A.R - (Subject access request) letter to them?.........I've got a few addresses for them and not sure which is the best address to use.
Re: I want those credit card charges back ! - every penny !
Scotty,
Might be worth giving customer services a call - did so myself earlier this evening, and got promised copies of my statements within the next 5 days. Obviously questionable how certain that is, but you never know

Re: I want those credit card charges back ! - every penny !
Received letter thisfrom Katherine Blunt..."thank you for your letter...blah...blah....b lah..........will forward statements shortly blah...blah....blah...."
Get a move on Capital One.... i want my money back and i want it for christmas.
Re: I want those credit card charges back ! - every penny !
Hi I received the letter from Katherine followed by the statements. I have had to sign for mine though. Only going to pick them up today as I have been on holiday. Can't wait to see the charges on that. Hopefully the charges on there might just enable me to clear there debt. I keep making payments but the debt isn't reducing..
Sending other letters off today asking for charges to be repaid---
Do I just send a letter requesting the charges or do I include the dates that the charges were applied to my account.. I am right in thinking that I don't include any interest at this stage!
Re: I want those credit card charges back ! - every penny !
As far as i can make out from reading all the other stuff on this forum you only include interest charges when you file your MCOL.....if it goes that far - I'm hoping it doesn't with mine anyway.
Re: I want those credit card charges back ! - every penny !
Sorry Agusta109 - Scotty's correct, first two only. You can also go after contractual interest, which is another matter you should read up on in the general forum if you do go for it.
Did you try the customer services I'd-like-copies-of-my-statements route Scotty?

Not tried Customer services yet.......i think I'll give it another couple of days and then drop them a reminder....they've still got until 15th October as per 40 days.
Re: I want those credit card charges back ! - every penny !
Woohoooo!!!
Received all my statements today with only one day to go.
Quite pleased as there was only 1 statement missing from 6 years worth. I'll still chase for this missing one in the future - as i said in the thread title "every penny!"
Had a quick look - there seems to be about £800-900 in charges.
Gonna go and put them on a spreadsheet nowand get that Prelimenary letter out in the morning.
Re: I want those credit card charges back ! - every penny !
I posted the letter this morning by recorded delivery to the following address:
Capital One Bank,

This is the address to which I sent my S.A.R. and it is also the address to which any further correspondence should be sent as stated on the covering letter from Katherine Blunt which accompanied my copy statements.
