    Question No default charges B4 2001 Question ???

    Just got the DPA Access info back. It has the ususal crud about Microfiche and of course I shall threaten them with the Information Commissioner.

    However, they also state "Barclaycard did not introduce default charges on its accounts until Mid-2001"

    Sounds to me like another "not me guv" load of equine fertiliser but lets see.

    Info please.
    Have any of you got default charges prior to mid-2001?

    Has anyone had Unlawful charges prior to mid-2001?
    Their view of default charges may not be the same as ours. There's a shock eh?

    Thanks Roydosan.

    It seems a bit patchy but it is clear that unlawful charges were applied prior to May 2001.

    Aitken it seems some accounts differ to others - I was told the same when I rung to ask them, and indeed I was never charged prior to mid-2001 because all their statements before then came with wonderful wordings to the effect of:

    'No additional charges if you:
    *Make a late payment or if your d/d isn't paid;
    *Exceed your credit limit;
    *blah blah '

    They obviously withdrew these priviledges once they realised how easily they could fleece people!

    But like I said, it seems some accounts have always been charged, and some, like mine, were only stomped on from mid-2001.
