Thread: Abbey offered me one third of my claim

There have been some instances of Abbey settling lower value refund requests without going through the legal channels. It would be worth your while calling them to discuss it - it could save months of muching about.

However, be fully prepared to have to take them to court, but only after you have followed the procedures laid down on this site. For starters, don't start a claim unless you have given the appropraite written notice to Abbey in the form of Letters Before Action which clearly state what you require and when you require it - there are templates on this site for these.

If you go into this with your eyes only half open, you will make the whole process much more stressful for yourself and a whole lot more difficult.
