Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I was issued a Summary Cause Summons last year from Edinburgh Sherriff Court to pay a debt of £3,328.72 which I duly paid before the Return Day. Also additionaly payable, were court expenses of £285.11. However, I checked the Scots Courts website today and it appeared that the cost of raising such as action is £65 for amounts over £200.
Has my pursuer taken me for a ride or are there other expenses involved that I don't know about?
As SFU said it would include the sol's time for preparing and any warning letters
