Default Vonnie v Halifax Credit Card

Hi guys, hope someone can clarify something for me. I sent a letter to the Halifaxicon (used template) for Data Protection Info relating to my C/C a/c.

Letter was sent on 9th August with the £10 fee. Received a letter back today as follows

"Your request for a complete list of transactions and charges including details of any manual interventions related to your account is noted. Please be advised our Data Protection team will contact you within the next few days. You should also be aware that there is a £5 charge per copy statement supplied."

Does this mean if they send my statements I will owe them hundreds of pounds? or are they at it?

    Any comments/suggestion appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hiya

I think you have done something wrong, Did you ask for a LIST OF CHARGES? or was it STATEMENTS?

what you need to do is ring them & ask for a for a LIST OF CHARGES for the past 6 yearsicon, this should cost you about £10.00 max.

If you go & have a read of FAQ's it will tell you what you have to do!
please have a read of what I have copied below, just gives you an idea that it does happen.

    Q. My bank wants to charge me for each statement sheet. They want a lot of money - far more than the actual cost of each one. It adds up to a lot of money. What should I do?

    A. There is no need to pay more than the £10 fee for the Data Protection Act request. If you did not follow the above advice and decided to ask for copy statements, for example, then they are entitled to charge for each one. Revert back to the S.A.R - (Subject access requesticon)

Hope this helps you out & if Im wrong Im sure someone will put you on the right track, But I asked for statements when I 1st started then I asked for list of charges, I was charged £5.00 per account, & now Im just waiting for my money..

    Good Luck With Your Claims

Hi Angi, I used the Subject access requesticon template as follows

Please supply me with a complete list of transactions and charges relating to my banking history with your organisation. Alternatively, a complete set of statements for that period will be acceptable.

Additionally, where there has been any event in my account history over this period which has required manual intervention by any member of your staff, or any other person, I require disclosure of any indication or notes which have either caused or resulted in that manual intervention, or other evidence of that manual intervention in relation to my banking business with you.

Have I used the wrong template?

    Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hiya

I went into my local Branch & ask for a list of charges on my accounts

I paid £5.00 for each account & waited about 30+ days for my list to arrive, they also sent me statements with my list.

So maybe it might be better if you do the same, as I did not use the DPR letter.

Maybe someone else might help you with the info you need to know, sorry I cannot help you with that one.

    Good Luck with Your Claims

    Angi x

Hi there. I sent off the same templates letter asking for a list of charges and they sent me a letter saying that it would cost me a fiver which they would deduct from my account and the list of charges would follow. Within a couple of weeks a tired and broken looking postie came stagering up my drive with a huge bundle of statements for the last five years. Seems like the Halifaxicon just please themselves as to what they do!! As Angi said you might be just as easy going into the branch and doing it that way.
Best of luck with the claim

Oh Oh naughty Halifaxicon have not supplied my statements, their 40 days are up! So looks like a wee reminder needed to push them in the right direction and a wee complaint to the Data Protection Commissioner***tut tut***

Can't go into a branch as it's a credit card I am claiming on, I don't actually hold a bank account as such with them.

Will post again when I finally receive my statements.

Ooops looks like the Halifaxicon are falling behind with their paperwork or maybe all the staff are sooo fed up that they are all on sick leave (sick and tired of us ! lol)

Had a read at your thread and sounds like we both need to send of the lbaicon for the SARicon and see how we go from there.....let me know how you get on.

    Good luck

Well I wasn't expecting this as a reply to my lbaicon for SARicon

    "Dear ...."

With reference to your recent communication about SARicon, we regret that you have found cause for complaint.

I am examining your concerns and you will receive a response from us within four weeks, in-line with the Financial Services Authority regulations.

    blah blah blah...complaints leaflet...etc.etc.

Your concerns will be dealt with as quickly as possible, but if you need to speak to me in the meantime, please telephone me on 01383 743354.

Surely another 4 wks when they've already had 2 months to supply my SAR is bang out of order?

    Any advice appreciated.

    Cheers
