    Exclamation littlesally v Natwest **WON**

I live in my o/d, should I stop my wages going in paying it off each month incase they take it away? If they do, I wont be able to eat for a month!! But if I change banks, then won't I be incurring charges for an unagreed loan?

Unarranged borrowing I think you mean. Anyway, all you will be charged is interesticon on the overdrawn amount. Hope that helps for now

Thanks. Was hoping you would reply as obviously you know more than most. Can the bank transfer money from one account to the other without my permission? Thinking of arranging for my wages to go in to my other Natwesticon account, no charges incurred on that one. Also, Natwest would not increase my overdrafticon to cover charges I could not cover, so I was forced to take out a loan. Can I do anything about this or am I being greedy. By the way, Natwest have always treated me well, sometimes wiping charges.

Yes the bank can transfer money between account in the same bank to pay off debts in one account. If you get a new account get it at another bank.

Treated you well - waiting for tears down the phone before reversing charges - you shouldnt be in that position in the first place.

I'll get those links for you,

Okay, think I'm now ready to contact bank. I have a new account at a different bank and will arrange for wages to be paid in there. Then phone customer services about statements (quoting SARicon and data protection act). Will also mention being forced to take loan to cover charges. Will say that in all correspondance. Thanks Karnevil, was begining to give up before I started but am ready now x

Going to do that today. Will remove money from Natwesticon to new bank - luckily it's the end of the month, pay just gone in. Not working til 2 today so have time to set it all in motion. Remembered that by accident I drew money from wrong account, leaving 50p, then £2 went out to charity (standing order), they charged me £28 for that!! I rang and said "but it's for charity", so they said they would half it, but didnt. Things like that stop me feeling guilty/greedy. Cheers for advice x

Yeah - or just set up a DD from your new bank and inform old bank what you are doing it is now just another debt to be tackled on the terms that you can afford.

18 months ago, because of charges going out with no money to cover, I asked for my overdrafticon to be raised. Natwesticon refused, but offered me a loan of about £1150, to pay off my £800 overdraft and cover charges and direct debits going out. I also got £300 insurance incase I stopped work. Altogether about £1700 owed back. Somewhere on these FAQs I've seen some mention of claiming this back, but can't find it again. Is this right? If so, how do I go about it or am I now getting greedy? I live in my O/D, it's not caused by charges, but I am annoyed that because my O/D wasn't upped by £50 I owe all this extra money. Any ideas anyone?

Not had statements back, sent off for them on 25th August. Have read two differing time scales, some say 40 days, some say 14 days. Or is the 14 days for the next stage? Will ring them tomorrow, at the Data Protection number, to see whats happening. Paid by P/O so can't check if cashed yet.

Writing down every stage, because seen a few other threads do this and they are the most helpful. Hopefully someone can learn from this.
Remember to send recorded delivery (I didn't - doh!)

No one seems to know the answer to my loans question, not even in the chat room. Been told Paul ? does but can't find him. Anyone know him? He's claiming quite a large amount of loan.

Sal- my understanding and I hope someone with very good knowledge will correct me is that if the loan has been because of charges ie consolidation loan that they can be claimed back. I know orfoster is claiming but that is because he was 17 when loan agreed which is illegal and not just unlawful, however I still haven;t found a thread that fits your case and hope someone will be able to help even if it relates to another bank. Maybe see you on chat room later

I had similar - what I claimed was the charges as normal and then the interesticon that was on the loan I put into the spreadsheet so effectively I claimed the proprtion of interest that related to charges. I don't see how you calim loan back as well as charges as surely you would then be claiming same thing twice?

Hope this helps, and sorry I don't know Paul.
