Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi all, I have 2 catalogue accounts, one with JD Williams and the other with Simply be (Although I now believe them to be the same company). I am up to date with my payments. One of them i owe £1200 and the other I owe £450.
The monthly payments are around £70 and £30 respectively. however on my payment for £70 I have noticed the around £35-£40 of my payment is a service charge and the payment for £30 also has a service charge for £20 also. I rang them about this and the say the first 2 months are interest free and if you have not paid in full after the 2 months then they charge this service charge.
I just want to know what my options are about this. The charges are totally unreasonable. I think they just make figures up, some months on a payment of £90 as much as £65 has been for a service charge. I feels like I will always be payng these debts off.
Any idea as to what i can do?
