Thread: Success with just a phone call!

I had 2 charges for £35 each for unpaid DD's (not a lot i know, but every penny counts and i started with the smallest/least amount). Went to the local branch and they said they couldn't do it, so asked for a number to call for complaints. Rang the complaints dept and told them i wanted these 2 charges refunded as they were unlawful. Was told there was a lot in the press at the moment but that they couldn't refund these charges. I started quoting about these charges not being lawful under common law and about the OFT ruling and they put me on hold. When we resumed our conversation i was told they would refund the 2 charges and another that i had pending would not be debited from my account - as a good-will-gesture! I was told that if i had any more DD's unpaid that i would incurr charges - we'll see!

Not a bad start though! Have now requested data from ALL my other cards and accounts, and can't imagine that it'll be as easy, but i'm ready for the battle now to get MY hard earned cash back!
