Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
charges for unauthorised overdraft and direct debit refusals tottalling 3200 pound for the past 6 years. Have followed the procedure so far and been offered the worst 6 months of charges back as a good will gesture (£590). However without wanting to seem greedy I dont think this is a high enough % of what i have been charged over the years to drop my claim.
I will now be sending them the 14 day letter before taking them to smal claims. There communications have been truly rubbish throughout, and I have absolutely no sympathy for them after the way i have been treated over the past 6 weeks.
Anyone else had similar experiences with letters going missing, phone calls not returned etc etc?
how far did you have to go with the Halifax out of interest?im kind of hoping that they will call it a day the day before court. Was this your experience. Im a bit miffed it got this far as i am Mr reasonable and have tried to negotiate with them as much as possible and all they have done is taken the mick. Never mind!
They got as far as saying they intended to defend the case. About a week later a mysterious cash deposit for £5044.12 appeared in my account. The letter came the next day. I wish I had more accounts!!
filled out my MCOL a bit ago and its now saying acknowledged when i log in to MCOL. Does this mean they have 28 days to decide whether to defend or not? If this is the case is this 28 days from the acknowledged date or from when I started the claim?
Sorry for the all the questions and thanks in advance!!
