I have today started an online claim against the Alliance and Leicester for £3500, and am so scared!!! i came accross this site whilst looking for success cases against banks!!! i wanted to know how long before they respond and what the response is likely to be!! any help would be great!!!:-|
Have faith Danni.
Stick to the process and stick to YOUR schedule.
Their track record is to spin things out as long as they can. Let them.
They will say their charges are reasonable and in line with the industry - ignore it
They will possibly offer you a "good will" amount less than your claim. Accept it, thank them and tell them you await the balance on the original schedule.
Send your letters to the bank recorded delivery (signed for).
If you have questions, post them here - you will get plenty of excellent assistance.
When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to of happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI insurance has been sorted now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.
Should you be offered help that requires payment please report it to site team.

Hi. what do you mean accept it/ and then tell them you want the whole amount. If you accept their lower offer, wouldn't that have to be in final settlement?
Hi, just to say, that there are sites out there, that want to charge 25% of your overall claim just to help you, and i nearly fell for that and then i came accross this site with all the free info!!!! i will be making a donation to this site when/if my claim settles!!!! regards Danni x

Thanks, Antony.
They might try and make it final, but all of the money was taken unlawfully so why should you accept it as final settlement? If I took £10 from someone and they caught me and asked for it back, I could offer £5 in final settlement. Somehow I do not think that would be accepted. Neither can the banks impose other terms like confidentiality. They just have to pay back what they owe.
We have all been guilty of thinking we need to accept the banks terms without question, but now we are taking charge and saying "No, that is unfair and/or unlawful. You can't do that". It takes some getting used to.

Phone the court, explain the situation and they'll tell you what you need to do. It's not a disaster, just another £35 (not reclaimable) and a further delay.
