Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Back in October of last year my girlfriend (now ex) and i split up. She was on the mortgage and we had an agreement that i would buy her out if either of us wanted out of the relationship.
I approached the A&L to ask for there assistance and was told NO! we can't help you, you don't earn enough. An interesting statement as i earn £35k a year and can prove it, i'm also not self employed.
To cut a long story short, i had to remortgage with another bank and was therefore charged a penalty redemption penalty of £2500. Which i'm led to believe by research on this site is illegal.
I have approached the A&L with a standard library letter asking for a refund. I have recieved a standard thanks letter and then today they wrote with we do not agree with you blah blah and enclosed a copy of my mortgage contract that i had with them.
My question is 'Is this standard frightening off tactics and should i go ahead a send my lba letter tomorrow?' any thoughts would be very helpful
