Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Finally got round a few weeks ago to sending in my DPA request to the Woolwich. On Friday they sent me a list of charges, which come to £696.44.
What infuriated me more than anything about the list is that it shows two charges for £30 a time taken from my account on CHRISTMAS EVE 2002! This put me into unauthorised overdraft the day before my son's first Christmas. They're obviously full of the joys of the season at The Woolwich, eh?
Anyway, template letter has gone away today asking for all charges to be refunded. I'll keep you all posted on what happens.
I'm also going through the process with the Bank of Scotland for my ex partner, but will post about how I get on getting her money back in the BoS forum once there's anything worth reporting.
Cheers for a brilliant site. What an excellent community it is.

Re: Baz vs The Woolwich
Bah humbug - profits have no morals! If I can help you in anyway (limited knowledge - lol) to get your money back I will. Tis now the season that the banks must suffer. Regards to tiny tim!
Well I posted off my letter asking for repayment on the 22nd and this morning got a reply. Impressively fast.
Of course it's the bog standard "we aim to have your issues resolved at some point before the end of time" letter, so I'll be going ahead with my fourteen day timetable and sending the next letter then.
