Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Got a bit of a problem. Both my BC accounts were paid up and closed in July 03. Sent off my SAR on the 18/8/06, they will no doubt give me the usual microfiche c**p. Just wondered if anyone out there has any idea of what I should do, as I dont have any statements so I would be unable to estimate any charges.
Hi Wendy
Yes, I have the microfiche crap going on, too...
You can stick to the 40 day limit and send them the Data Protection Act non-compliance letter from the library here and see what happens. Take a look at my thread Warms vs. Barclaycard to see how it has been going for me.
You can find the templates in the library section. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...lates-library/
good luck
Whatever I post is just my opinion, no more, no less!

Just had a letter from Barclaycard from a Deborah Woodcock regarding my husbands account. Only have transactions back to May 04 with the microfiche standard reply - no can do. Mind you was quite impressed with the timing, only sent off the DPA letter on the 18/8. If I dont get the rest of the statements I shall be calculating the charges. Their loss or mine, we will have to wait and see.
Just what I expected, letter from B/C re microfiche. I have no statements as both accounts have been paid up since July 03. My only option is to pay for some statements and then estimate what I might have been charged, then its upto B/C to prove otherwise.
Resorted to paying for 4 months statements (11/09) so I will be estimating any charges. Im hoping it goes to court and then B/C will have to show all documents, then I will have proof of how much they have charged me.
