hi just wondered how long it takes for pension credit to come thru , my other half applied nearly 6 wks ago and when he phoned up friday they said to phone back in 2 wks time... we have no idea of the amount we are entitled to and i have 2 children 5 and 15 , we are living of child benefit and child tax credits which is just over a £100 a wk and we are really struggling , does anybody know how long and how much we are entitled to , many thanks
Pension Credit (guarantee credit) will top up a couple's weekly income to £198.45 (It can be more if you/your partner are disabled or have caring responsibilities).
The savings credit is up to £27.03 per week for a couple.

Average clearance times for claims in the year 09/10 has been recorded as (on a national basis) 15.7 working days up until June 09.

thank you Erika have had a look at what we might be entitled to and i dont think they take child benefit into account but not sure about child tax credits ,also have just had a letter from housing benefit today saying ; After looking at your claim again , i must advise you that your payments are no longer suspended . Have just tried phoning but cant get thru so not sure what that means at the moment also i have my landlord phoning telling me i am 674.00 in arrears and to get in touch with pension credit to see if they can push our claim forward but when i phoned them last week the women was rather snotty and said not to phone untill nxt wk ,so i really dont know what to do , any advise pls thank you
i know you probably think im not important but i would really appreciate some help on this ... looking thru the threads pension credit does not seem to be a problem !!! hey guys old folk need help sometimes lol
