Hi
I have 2 payday loans due on 19th March. I took them out £400 each as my wages were finally cut to SSP only after 4 months off sick due to an emergency op.
I have signed up to CCCS dmp but am worried as I have read threads about them contacting your employer or threatening you.
I was advised to "lose" my bank card which i have done - what should i do as on Friday I expect some nasty phonecalls
Thanks in advance
Im in the same situation and the action I have take is as follows
Cancel debit card and set up new bank account as quickly as possible as I have read of people having money taken from accounts despite the card being cancelled, dont know how much is in it but I have told my bank to cancell and out a stop on the card.
Next ensure you monitor online banking and cancel any DD set up, sometimes they dont appear so ring up the bank and cancel any.
Wait for the loan to default and then send them either a recorded delivery letter or email stating a payment plan that isnt ridiculous but no more than u can afford and ensure you include in the email that you will only deal with they via written letter and email.
Most importantly dont worry about it, I know its easy to say and I bin worries sick but its not like dealing with priority debts, these people have little to no power and would find it difficult to raise court cases against you based on their extortionate charges and business practices.
