Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Was anyone aware that when a solicitor is dealing with probaite of a loved one, it is common practice for them to claim up to 2% of the total estate on top of their standard charge (in my case £155 + VAT per hour). When the solicitor in question came to give "the presentaion" to my 85 year old father in law, they failed to mention this point, it was only after we read the terms and conditions (page 9) that we discovered this. They even sent through a document outlining all charges in larger font than the T's and C's but again failed to mention this in that section.
Be ware of this disgusting charge that they may well not make you aware of.
