Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hello guys, nice forum, honestly didnt know it existed until today.
If anyone can help, then you'd be doing me a big favour.
We were recently turned down for a mortgage because of a "s" Settled mark on a Experian credit check. We had however managed to get defaults removed by Abbey National a while ago and hoped the Settled mark would be okay... but obviously it isnt okay. The morgage advisor has said, get it removed.
The defaults should never of been put on the account, as they admitted on the phone that it was their fault. But no letter has been sent, even though we have asked for one.
Can Experian remove this? I am at the moment tackling Abbey again regarding this settled mark, so far not a peep from them.
Welcome to the site.Contact Experian and tell them what you have said here.
They will take this up with Abbey (or Santander as it is now) and inform you of any response. They will be reluctant to make any changes before this, although if you are adamant that it should not have been there, then you should remind Experian they have a responsibility to make sure anything recorded is true and factual.
You have a right to add a notice of correction to your file, and my guess is that they will suggest it pending things being clarified.
