Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I got a CCJ back in 2008, it is paid in full. It only shows on my CallCredit CRA report. I have done some research and 99% of lenders do not search them when doing a credit check, they use the other 2.
So, i do not wish to defraud or game the system but do wish to rebuild my credit score by means of getting credit and repaying it on time, then maybe in 4 years when the CCJ drops off get a mortgage.
Would it be a smart move to just forget i have this CCJ when applying or will they find out somehow, reason being is if I declare it I will find it hard to get credit so am stuck in a catch 22.
you won't get any credit full stop so don't declare it. How long after the CCJ did you pay it?
There are links on the internet which inform you which banks, credit card companies etc us which CRA's. So pick ones which only use Equifax or Experian.
Really, not even sub prime stuff like sim only phones and catalogues?
I was paying it from day 0 in instalments via the court, then they decided they wanted the lot after 2 years so paid it in full, £5500 in Jan this year.
I'm not looking to get great credit, just want to build up some green on my files so i can get a mortgage in a few years when im fully clean.
I have the data on whom searches who, thanks for the heads up anyway.
