Default National Parking Control - Invalid ticket

A friend of mine was given a pcnicon claiming that she wasn't displaying a valid ticket and that it had been transferred from another vehicle. I have appealed on her behalf, claiming that there has been a mistake and that if they have proof of this then they should forward it, otherwise we have no intention of paying them any money. I haven't given any names in relation to the ticket and the only information they have at present is the vehicles registration number (unless they can in fact obtain this information via the DVLA).

After a week I didn't get a response. I have since e-mailed them asking for details of their appeals procedure and how long it will take for them to drop this. I received a short reply asking me once again for the ticket number with which I replied. That is almost a week ago and I have still received nothing. I have again e-mailed them to explain that I won't be paying this unless they can provide some evidence substantiating that this actually took place.

After reading the forums tonight it seems she should just ignore any further contact from this 'company'. Question is, have I made the situation worse by 'appealing' via the website and the subsequent e-mails? I find it very difficult to believe that they can prove that a ticket had been transferred between vehicles.

    Hi Neil,

Welcome to the Consumer Action Group

This is not a Ticket Neil, it's an unlawful invoice.

Is there a name on the Ticket, i.e. what bunch issued it.

At the moment your doing the right thing, ignore it, and carry on ignoring it.

I am sure others will be along to support this.
