First post - Hello to all and Mortgage redemption charges
I would like to say hello to all in this forum. Glad I found you all.
I have found myself in the fortunate position to be able to pay off my current mortgage after many years with the same major lender. However I was absolutely appalled at the addition of £225 fees ( £175 repayment administration fee and £50 Deeds Despatch fee ).
Need to check my old mortgage documents but I am sure the fee quoted for early payment was only £50 at the time I took out the mortgage which I believe should still be the case today.
Anyway I am looking forward to reading of others experience before I start a proper complaint to my lender.
Re: First post - Hello to all and Mortgage redemption charges
Hello and welcome Tony,
If you search through the forums using the search function for terms such as "early repayment fees" you will find that it has been discussed at length before. If you also start a thread under the appropriate company you can ask any questions in there.
BEFORE starting your claim read through the FAQ's and if there's something you aren't sure of then ask.
