Default hi to everyone and a query??

first of all, i must say how impressed i am with this site.
All the advise given and used.

i have just about sold my old house and moving in with my partner in her rented home for the time being.

q1. on my credit file (creditexpert) i have a default account with provident finance. The reason for the non payment was the fact the door step collector stopped collecting, and i figured due to the agreement was for them to come to me. Not me to chase them to give them my money.
Is there anyway to get this removed. Not my fault if they cant be bothered to collect money on a Friday as per original agreement.

Company name: PROVIDENT FINANCIAL Account type: Home Credit Started: 03/06/2008 Default Balance: £494 Current Balance: £494 Repayment Period: Monthly Payment: £38 over 13 months Defaulted On: 02/03/2009 File Updated for the Period to: 14/02/2010

Also i have i have fallen behind with british gas (gas), so got red marks for that.
But my Britishgas (elec) is fine.

I didnt think BG could register with the CRA as i not signed a credit agreement????

    Any suggestions???

just as an afterthought i read on here, one person got there cra onto manual have many others?

All you can do is dispute the default with the CRA and I think they'll investigate for you. Have you spoke with provident? If they say it's a default I think you're stuffed as CRA's need approval to remove them.

Regarding the British gas they aren't a credit agreement, I suspect that's with a DCAicon which would show on your report.

i did speak to prov ages ago, they said we send someone.
    then never bothered.
just seems strange they dont bother to collect the money shortly after setting it up...

i was prepared to pay if they could have been bothered to collect.
