Default Are my Buy to Let mortgages enforcable

I purchased 2 properties in late 2007 on a buy to let basis. It was my stated intention to the mortgageicon advisor to convert the properties in to 4 flats before reselling. The mortgages were arranged by the estate agents mortgageicon team and they assured my partner who dealt with this on my behalf that this was the correct mortgage for this purpose.

Once converted I contacted the mortgage company to discuss the strategy of selling one flat at a time only to be informed that I should not have taken this mortgage product and they would not permit selling or separating the single dwelling title into 2 separate titles, one for each flat.

I made a complaint to the estate agency who had arranged the BTL mortgages. They concluded that because I had signed the documents I was equally at fault as they were. This has caused considerable hardship and stress and has left me with no other choice but to rent out the flats.

Having read several threads on CAGicon which indicate that the mortgage advisor should never have applied for the mortgages in my name without meeting me. With this in mind I would appreciate views on any possible action I could pursue.

    Any progress on this Gallahad?

Did your agent belong to any governing body like the National Association of Estate Agents or RICS?

When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to of happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI insurance has been sorted now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.

    Countrywide incorporates some big names.

Well I'm subscribed to this thread now, so as and when you're ready to pursue this I'll follow with interesticon.

    I expect you've seen this http://www.countrywidemortgages.co.uk/TCF.aspx

If you've received a final response from Countrywide then I'd say your next step is to write to fosicon.
