Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Have just entered into battle with Alliance & Leicester. They happily helped themselves to over £200 in charges from my account last month - which obviously did nothing other than compound the overdraft situation - so I have written several furious letters asking for my money back.
They refuse to budge saying that the OFT ruling only applied to credit card late payments which they say are "quite distinct from a bank's charges on current accounts". Is this true or are they bluffing???
I am doing as much research as possible before deciding on my next move, but would be interested to know if anyone else has successfully managed to get A&L to change their position.
Tons of people have been paid out by A&L.
Have a read around the forum and you can see how they handle claims. You will probably have to issue a court order against them and they will close your account.
Good luck
