I had a Mint Visa which went into arrears in June 2009. I was sick at the time and stupidly I didn't contact them and stopped paying. I received a default notice and notice of termination letter.

I then received several letters from Triton which again I ignored. I have heard nothing from either company for 3-4 months.

Now I have been going back through my statements for the last 6 six years and have calculated the charges with interest are more than the arrears.

How do you think I should proceed? I am considering writing to request a full refund of the charges.

My mortgage is with RBS as is fully up to date with no payments missed and I would not want to jeopardise this.
