Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Would anyone have a view/pointers on me making a claim against FirstPlus for mis-selling PPI. Summary below:
Loan £50,000.00 with additional PPI of £12,245.00 (Total £62,245.00) taken in June 2001.
Tired to claim on PPI but told medical condition was pre-existing but never told PPI optional or medical conditions discussed.
In the end I settled the loan and PPI by remortgaging and paid back £65,000.00 in August 2003.
Are there any statue of limitations ie lapse of time should I try to reclaim the PPI element of the loan ?
I am sure someone with ore experience will be along to help you soon.
As far as I am aware there is no lapse of time, it is usually from when you first noticed there was a problem.
I have just had a claim settled including compound interest from barclaycard and another one they have agreed to settle but payment not yet received. Cards dated back to 2002 & 2004.
My suggestion as a lay person would be send a Subject access request to FirstPlus requesting all information they hold on you. In my limited experience, it is best to be prepared. Gather all the information you can and then submit a claim.
