Hello CAG
This is my first posting and frankly I think I need help ASAP. Visited the site and sent a letter to my Bank asking them to review my account charges from December to May. It took them several weeks to respond whilst in the meantime I was still writing cheques for everyday living such as groceries nothing extravagant due to the fact they were eating up all my money for overdraft payment and other money I was due to them. I am on benefits and the money debited into my account was Department of Social Security payments, I informed the Bank of this and they replied by stating that I had been told of the charges and such like in the original charter booklet I was given when I opened the account. They have stated that what I have done is cocnsidered by them as first person fraud and that they will be taking my to court to recover the money from my account and that they will be putting my account on the defaulters register. At the time my charges from December to May were £900 and now I owe the bank almost £2000 but the majority of this amount is bank charges amounting to £1400 and possibly going up.
Hi
what you need to do is get your statements for the past 6 years and note all the charges made to your account and then you have to inform them in writing, giving them 14 days to respond. Check out all the FAQ's on this site and you will be on your way. Don't give up as that money is legally yours. So go get it!!
Visited this site and joined several months ago and decided to try and reclaim my charges but thing seem to be getting worse they are taking me to court
