This thought came to mind as I am sorting out a few harassment cases for people - can BT send you a listing of all the call made TO your landline number?

I'm thinking this as yes, you can by one of those "phone logging machines", but at £100 odd, it's beyond the reach of most people. At least then if BT can come up with the goods, it will be evidence to send to the authorities. Fair enough, it will probably cost a couple of quid (like an SAR?) and it will only show non-withheld calls, but that would be a good option for the cases I'm working on.

It is an idea to try?

I would think BT would be able to supply this info, although knowing them there is probable a charge.

BT is the best person to ask.

Nusense calls section.

If you are receiving persistent nuisance calls, please contact our specialist advisors at the Malicious Calls Bureau on 0800 661 441 (24hrs, 7 days a week). However, if you are receiving abusive, threatening or obscene calls, malicious or otherwise distressing to you, then you should report them to the police

In my experience it really does depend on who you speak with at Bt.

2/3 years ago I was being harrassed and despite changing my telephone number twice, this person still managed to get this number. I had 2 lines, one was purely for Sky Television and never used for calls incoming or outgoing, the number was never given to anyone, but he got it.

I then found out, quite by accident that this person was a BT employee!!, but do you think I could get any help from BT - No. I had loads of proof but they were just not interested. I live in a small village and he telephoned almost everyone in the village leaving nasty insinuations about me, but BT would not help me or the Police by providing tracking/tracing. Many of the numbers he used were purely for LifeLine Assist telephones!!

Anyway just my two pence. Hope you find them more helpful.

They do have the facility to do this and it should be released to you on request but only to the home address that is registered.

write to this addy for request. Although it would be covered SAR, they should release information without the request.
