Me too, got statements listing about 1300 in charges, i estimated interest at 500 and sent prelim letter in, after a few days i thought i'd ring them and ask them to work out the interest for me.
They rang me back saying the interest was 2k, and would i take a Full and final settlement offer of 3.3k!! without me even asking!

Sounds promising, I will give them a ring on Monday - Just sent the prelim letter requesting the £1500 in charges they have taken from me. Must say that getting £3.3k from £1.3k of charges has certainly brightened my weekend. Thanks for the info, I will let you know how I get on after Monday.

Strange...tell us more! What stage was he at? Prelim? lba? And who did he speak to?

We sent the first letter asking for the statements, We then got a reply with a break down of all the charges he as had on the account, on the letter there was a name and a contact number (Below) for any questions he may have regarding the list.
When he rung he was told that they had already credited his account with 100 pounds. When he explained that his account was shut and that he would not accept the one hundred pounds they then agreed over the phone as to what was owed and arranged over the phone for a cheque to be sent out for the full amount.
