Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi everyone, I am new but have been reading the forums and faq for a while and have started my attempt to get penalty charges refunded from my now 0.00 balance Barclay card which I haven't used in years. I sent the data protection letter and cheque for £10, got back statements from may 2004 and a letter about microfiche you will prob be familiar with. The statements I need are from the period August 03 - April 04 so @ £3.00 a pop it will be £24.00. I know Barclays charged me over £200 at least when the acc was open.
What do you guys think I should do?? I have read the discussions RE microfiche and am skeptical about Barclays giving in just on receipt of another letter or 2.
I am thinking of just paying the £24.00 then proceeding as normal, just a bit worried about spending money and time, only to not get my charges refunded.
What are Barclays generally doing with these cases???
Anyone who has had a similar experience I would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks.
Its a call on your part, personaly I will take them to court over failure to comply with the SAR.
However, if you wish to pay the money for your statements and reclaim the money thats fine.
One thing you should consider though, the offer to provide the statements for 3 quid each doesnt come with a delivery date attached to it.
Call me cynical but its an open invitation for the them to introduce a months or twos delay if they so choose.
