Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi Ryan,
I mean you no disrespect, but why are you starting a job if you don't know what it involves. Most people use this site because of concerns/problems they are having with a company/firm/organisation.Surely the best person to answer your question is your manager/HR representative.I wish you good luck in your new job.
Heyy, What it is that they have offered me this post and they havent really told me what it inccours, They said I would be involved in 'collectiting Assets' However I have heard a few dodgy things about BH on this forum So just wondered if it was people who would have the same job title as me who were causing people to feel likt this.
Sorry mate, but why have you accepted a job if you don't know what it involves. From reading posts on this site, you will be aware of some of the problems people have with Brighthouse and others. You might be one of the nicer employees who will help customers in difficulty (we know there are some). As I said, good luck in your new job.
Regards
Lookinforinfo,
that thought crossed my mind too.I was trying to get Ryan to reveal who he/she really is.After all,we know some employees of companies/firms/organisations do come on here to try and find information .I may be wrong, but I still can't understand why, if it was genuine, he/she would come on here to find out what the job involves.
Regards
Lookinforinfo,
just been looking at another thread (Useful information Re:Brighthouse).Ryan has posted on post#2.Seems to confirm what you thought. Interesting that he/she has not commented here since.

Heyy, I will be joining brighthouse as a customer account advisor very soon, I was wondering if any ex-employees would be able to explain to me what this actually means? My manager told me it would have something to do with chasing up people who miss playments? Will that mean i will be assisting in robbing the poor?
Also I am new to this forum and have found past threads verry intresting keep up the good work
So...
You already work for BrightHouse... have applied for (and been accepted for) a promotion to a customer account advisor (debt chaser)... and you come to a consumer advice forum to find out what the job entails????
Look, I've been involved with BrightHouse, and I know that anyone being considered for a position of account advisor/asset recovery would have to be someone who fully understands the BrightHouse system, has a proven track record, and - most importantly - has the "right stuff" for the job!
Here's some clues (from a recent BrightHouse online vacancy):
"..Debt collections experience preferred (although not essential, as we tend to make it up as we go along...). You should have an understanding or knowledge of debt management(pay up - or the kitten gets it!) and successful collection techniques ("Unplug that telly, missus - it's coming with me!"). Heavy lifting is involved (Get yer ass off that suite, missus - it's coming with me as well!"). You will be responsible for the recovery of products to minimise company asset and cash losses (Get 'em back, wipe 'em over, and re-sell 'em...) and establish a strong working relationship with our store network and provide them with effective support... (Graduates of RADA with good acting skills are preferred, as you may, from time to time, have to pretend you are a bailif...)
Good luck!
Cheers
Lefty

Yep - here's ryan1991's other comment (left on a information only "sticky" thread for some reason...)

"...Aren't BrightHouse only trying to help people furnish their homes affordably?..."
"...what about the thousands [of customers] who have a good experience?..."
"...although I do agree that BH sometimes mislead customers..."
(BrightHouse PR dept take note: Great new strapline for the Home and Away tv sponsorship campaign!)
I will only say this: It must REALLY p*** off the directors at BrightHouse head office when over-enthusiastic employees come on here and trample over thousands of pounds worth of very carefully prepared PR, and meticulously worded statements!
Good luck with his promotion!
Cheers Lefty

Never been in a Brighthouse shop, but once looked in the window. They charge ridiclous amounts for goods - like three times as much as Argos!
I know they don't do credit checks, but they defo rip people off with their prices. I would rather do without than buy anything from these legal theives.
Oh - and just one little advisory note to the OP...
BrightHouse DO monitor these forums on a daily basis... It won't take much for them to work out who the new customer account/asset recovery advisor is at their latest store... (too much info, Ryan1991... way too much info...)
Cheers

Don't panic - I'm not attacking you, mate... I've already told you what the job is about:
"..Debt collections experience preferred (although not essential, as we tend to make it up as we go along...). How many people go for a job without knowing about the company ?
These days Employers are likely to ask at interview what YOU know about THEM !
Theres no shortage of info about Brighthouse on the internet-not all of it geared to prospective employees.
By your own admission you have already read lots on CAG.
That should have told you something already.

Methinks Ryan doth protest too little.
By the way, you haven't answered what I asked you in an earlier post.If what you say is true (although it doesn't seem it) why not ask what the job involves at interview.
