Brought a car from Car Craft Jan 09 (26th), was being told one thing by the financial guy in store however the agreement didn't read as to what he was telling me. So refused to sign the agreement, at which point another document appeared from the financial company (Creation) confirming what I was being told by Car Craft. Basically that so long as one year down the line I had paid the fee's monthly and the full amount owed on the loan was paid I wouldn't be charged interest. Which was great.
In October 09 I phoned them just to confirm the settlement figure and was told £3.5K over what I lead to believe. So contacted Car Craft's compliance department with regards to this, managed to get my warranty money back from them as a bonus, and was told I was not the only one with an issue to do with this letter that had gone out.
Raised the issue with Creation and was sent an opologie for the fact the letter was sent in error (so thats 10 months down the line and £3.5k down) but that the contract I signed was a legally binding contract, but I only signed it once I had seen this letter.
Car Craft off the record said go to Financial Ombudsman as they have other clients with the same issue. I do now have a 'final response letter' from Creation.
I have cancelled my DD with them as I paid as the letter stated by the 26th Jan 2010 the outstanding value around £17,000 and the next DD they want is around £670... They sent me a letter saying they will charge me £30 admin fee if the DD fails...
