    Default Ikano ppi - help!

    Hello,

After I received my SARicon paperwork from Ikano I sent off a request for a refund of my PPIicon because I am self-employed and it would never have paid out. I had applied for the card instore in Habitat and clearly marked I was self-employed on the application form and on the advice of the in-store staff ticked the PPI box.

However Ikano have written back saying that they won't be refunding anything because in 1999, when I took out the card, PPI was not sold by members of staff in the store, but was an 'opt in' request on the application form which would be indicated by a tick in the relevant box by the customer.

They then said that upon acceptance full details of the policy including exclusions and cancellation terms were supplied to me. So who sold me the PPI?

I have never seen any details of the policy, and still haven't as they failed to supply any details of the insurance or terms and conditionsicon for the card when they sent me all the SARicon paperwork - which consisted of three inches deep of computer screen print outs going back to 2003, a photocopy of my signed application form and nothing else.

Can they claim no responsibility? I'm still going to chase after this but I'm not sure what to say to them regarding their claim that PPI was not sold by members of staff in-store even though the card was applied for in-store, the PPI recommended in-store, the box ticked in-store and was on a store card application. Any suggestions would be brilliant.
