Recieved reply today.. Standard letter with pretty leaflet..lol saying that they will look into it and respond no later than 4 Weeks...mmm Sorry Halifax you have till 24th August before lba letter gets sent out..
In inital letter I requested charges returned, should I add Interest to each charge ? if so what rate should I use..
Was thinking that since they charge 29.8% interest for unauthorised overdraft, should we be charging the same rate as their deducting charges from my account was unauthorised..lol 8% seems to be the going rate ??

Right thats the blue touch paper lit..lol Claim put into court today..Had to send the summons to Halifax head office as court thought a PO Box number could cause problems.
Sit back now and wait ...lol

Just had telephone call from nice man at Halifax..lol
Offered £150 as full settletment..told him politely that this was not acceptable , he then said his max he could offer was £400. I said I would take as part settlement and contuinue to recover the rest via court. He could not agree to this on phone and said a letter would be sent out today to confirm their offer.
Not to worry as ball already rolling through the court process..
Told them Court papers were lodged on the 7th September as I had heard nothing from them within the 14 days of my lba.. Felt sorry for the guy as he said due to the publicity they are very very busy with these claims ,

Just had a letter this morning too from them, after the phone call..lol
Saying that they were still investigating my complaint and that they would reply soon but before the 9th October...lol

Letter from Halifax this morning, Seems it would cost them more to defend case , so without addmission of liabillity they have agreed to settle in full, Including interest and court fees. To be paid in bank account within 5 working days.. No conditions except the usual one that if you incur further charges they may withdraw my banking facilities..lol
Was so looking forward to a day out at court..Never mind..Got the TSB to sort out and no doubt they will string it out..lol
Are cheques acceptable for donations, just so the bank see's it in black n white..lol

When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to of happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI insurance has been sorted now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.
