Default F&F on my Lloyds overdraft

    Hi,

I realise I cant CCA Lloydsicon on my overdrafticon, as it isnt exactly covered by the CCA, eg, they wont have a CCA for it.

I owe £1500. I want to get it cleared, can I send a letter and ask them to close it for £1000 as a F&F. Is this likely to be accepted?

    BR

Hi Billyray and welcome to cag

I had an overdrafticon with Lloydsicon TSB and asked for a reduced figure for full and final. They told me that they never do reduced amounts for overdrafts it has to be settled in total.
I even made an offer in writing and was told the same thing again.

You can ask for a Breakdownicon of what the total is made up from. They may give you this information if not then send a Subject access requesticon along with a postal order for £10 and they will send you the last 6 yearsicon statements.

Just an after thought. If you have internet banking then you can trace back on your statements to see how much of the amount is charges. The new templates for claiming back these charges should be ready soon and you can then put a claim in.

Thanks for your advice. I am amazed they are not open to negotiation on the amount though. Bizarre.

If it was a loan then some of the amount is interest and can be negotiated. An overdrafticon as they told me is actual money lent and needs to be paid back in full. (They actually include bank charges as money lent?????)

    Hi Billyray

I have an overdrafticon with ltsb - about £5000 - this has been with a DCAicon for sometime and they recently wrote offering me the following options -
    • Make a one-off Full and finalicon settlement payment to your account. Please call the number below to discuss the discount options. Further to your submission of the agreed payment neither we nor our client will pursue you further in regards to the above account.
    • Submit a downpayment of £**** then repay the remaining balance at £*** per month.
    • Repay the balance at an amount of £*** per month.
I haven't taken them up on this offer as the amount they are requesting is made up totally of bank charges, and I would certainly never recommend calling them, but it just goes to show they do sometimes offer Full and Final settlement deals!

Good Luck and let us know what you decide to do!

My overdraft was still under Lloydsicon controll it was not assigned or sold to a DCA.

It does no harm to ask for a Full & Final settlement so worth a try

    Hi Wino

Yes, I did think after I posted that the reason for the F&F offer might have been because my account had been passed to a DCA and they/their client LTSB are just desperate to claw back what they can. Whereas in the case of yourself and the OP they are possibly more likely to hold out for as much as possible.

It's definitely worth a try though as you say - nothing ventured, nothing gained!
