hi everyone hope someone can give me some advice,i bank with a&l jointly with my wife for round about 6years,after a short while thy contacted us and asked if we would like to upgrade account we agreed, then stupidly they set it up in my name only with my wage being paid in but left all the dds etc in the old account,we sorted out the problem they repaid us all the charges etc as they were at fault.the account was never closed and i used it ,it went over the overdraft limit and then started to occur charges.a&l contacted me rgarding the debt early last year and i wrote back to them stipulating i would be prepared to pay back the original outstanding bebt if they took off the extortinate charges they had added on,this was in october last year.Today i rang up to transfer money and 10mins after received a phone call froma mrs jepson i said i was not available and when i checked the number 08007836529 it is regarding the arrears on the closed account, they have not responded by letter to my offer of payment it just seems because ive rung today its jogged their memory, any ideas how to deal with this, surely they should have replied by letter before now.
