Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I decided to start a new thread as I have read hundreds of posts about `Welcome` & their demise and the euphoria just before Xmas. I have a secured loan - £12k and am 1 month behind. I ve just sent the SAR request but having read that some of you were considering making final and full settlement offers I just wondered if anyone has and indeed whether they have been successful? Ive read that some of you were gonna offer 25% or less of the original loan. I suppose Welcome will try and hold out for the fulll inflated sum?
Billy I will request this thread be moved to the welcome finance section for you.

Had a message left on my answer phone today despite sending them the telephone harassment letter these people are completely clueless. Iam not entering into any verbal dialogue it will be in writing or not at all!
Got a letter from Welcome today advising me that the settlement figure for the loan is £17730.72. They made no reference to the Full and final offer I made of £2000 given the financial meltdown they are in. In fact they totally ignored it. I also got a letter from a`complaint handler` who has kindly decided to "reject my complaint" and has said that no excessive contact has been made ( again they have blatently ignored the telephone harassment letter) I now await the SAR with eager anticipation.
We have a loan currently at £14,500(ish) and let me know please if you ever get anything back from the £2000 off which is unlikely as they will continue to chase people through the lewis group I believe.
I have to say all the pre Xmas euphoria expressed on here about Welcome Finances imminent demise and all those who were doing cart wheelsetc does seem a little flat now. They are still going and regardless seem intent hanging on to the bitter end. Has anyone else on here actually gone to them and offered a Full and final settlement of their loan like I have? As I said my offer of £2000 was ignored and they want the full amount(tho the figures look decidedly dubious - £17730.72) Would love to hear if anyone has managed to get a full and final settlement for far less than they actually owe??
To be honest in my opinion an offer of a secured loan that you claim is owed 12k and they claim is worth 17K offering a settlement if 2K is not realistic and you couldnt expect such a small offer to be accepted.

What offer would be realistic then?
Despite sending the telephone harassment letter to them I got a call at 8.30am this morning from `Nick` wanting the 2 months worth of arrears and for me to agree a repayment schedule.
After getting totally confused with this I think I may have got the statement from the SAR loaded onto here. If someone could take a look and advise Id be grateful also whether anything else would need to be loaded on here too?
