    Default Fortis Lease Help Please!

I bought my new car via `buyacar.co.uk` Sept 2006 all initial contact was with these people and I paid a deposit of £4000 to them. When it came to the actual finance agreement which I signed thats when `Fortis Lease` came in and up to that point I had never heard of them, I have a `lease agreement` which means a final balloon payment of £3600 or to refinance Sept 2010. I got the agreement audited and it was discovered the interesticon payable had been miscalculated and also a suspicion of a `secret commission` from buyacar.co.uk to Fortis Lease. I am currently 3 months in arrears and today got the first of probably a whole load of phone callsicon from Fortis Lease demanding instant repayment of all outstanding monies - £510 or else etc etc( I have this evening sent the telephone harassment letter to them). I now have a real dilemma I havent got the money, can I offer a repayment schedule? Should I call their bluff and see if they go to court which will force the issue and possibly see if the agreement is improperly executed/unenforcable? Im also worried the car could get repossessed? As I understand it once I have not paid for 4 months I will get adverse credit details recorded against me and potential court proceedings may start?

Any practical advice or help really would be appreciated.

The mods have moved it to "Motoring/ Vehicle retailers and manufacturers" forum area as this is no doubt a better area for CAGgers to see it and to get a response to your problem than where you originally posted it.

    Hi folks,
I hope one of you experts out there reads this as I really do need some help on this subject. I received a default notice from Fortis Lease today and they are demanding the 3 missed payments otherwise they claim they are going to seek court action and repossessicon the car from me. I have scanned the letter onto my system but unsure how to upload it onto here so some one could take a look and offer me some advice. I really would appreciate some help.
    Many thanks Bill Goat Gruff.

    Hi Billygoat gruff,

Your thread has been moved to the legal forums now

If you can post up the default notice and any other document you feel may be of value in order for people to assist you. Remove any personal information first.

You will need to use an image hosting site such as

Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket

It is free to join, upload your documents to their site, then you will need to highlight and copy the url code (usually the 3rd or 4th one on the list) .. then hightail it back here, open up a new reply box in your thread and hit paste.

    Any problems.. just yell

When the Liberals and Conservatives were in opposition, they both agreed that banks should pay back high bank charges to customers. Nothing seems to have happened since they came into power as a coalition. PPI Insurance has been sorted. Now they should turn their attention to bank charges and help customers get exorbitant charges refunded.

Your decisions and actions are your own, and should you be in any doubt, you are advised to seek the opinion of a qualified professional.
