Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I've been on a CCCS debt plan for 15 months and it's been going well (4 years to go).
However, at the beginning of January I got a letter from CCCS saying ltsb have acknowledged Decembers monthly credit card payment but stated the reference number being provided is incorrect. I logged into LTSB online banking and saw that the monthly payment had been credited to my credit card account as usual, so ignored the letter.
Yesterday I opened another letter from CCCS where they've been told by LTSB that they are quoting an "incorrect account number" so they will be unable to make this months payment. I thought this was strange so I logged into LTSB online banking and now see it says "Due to account closure your available credit is nil."
I understand the nil credit being available, as I'm just paying this off with CCCS.
But what concerns me is the notice "Due to account closure" because I've not asked them to close it and I've not received any letters or contact from them about the account being closed.
Given that CCCS won't be able to make payment now that the reference is incorrect, I'm left wondering what they're playing at and what's likely to happen next.
