Hi,

About six months ago I done a major shift around of all my money which meant in 1 month on my Barclaycard I done a cash advance, then paid this off and then took advantage of the 5.9% balance transfer for life rate, I discussed with the call centre person that this rate would be applicable at the time.

Very Naively I have only just looked at my statements, only to realise that the majority of my interesticon is being charged at a ridiculously high rate. Having just spoken to a call center advisor I was advised that nothing can now be done as they only keep the calls taped for one month, it appears that as it was in the same statement the order of the transactions is irrelavant, it always takes balance transfers into account last. I would never have done the Bal Transfer if I knew I would be paying 20% extra!!! I asked to raise a complaint but was told that nothing will be done.

I am now in a position where I am being charged 20% extra to what I should be charged. Where do I stand in this situation, I feel I have been wrongly advised, and am now in a position where I am likely to incur hundreds of pounds extra interest as a result. What actions if any may I take to resolve this issue.

Many thanks for any help in advance.
