Security Breaches with Abbey / Santander... am I entitled to compensation
I have had the security breached on my account for the second time in 3 months. Both times someone has managed to remove all the funds from my current account. The first time this happened the bank never explained how the fraud had been committed nor did they recommend how I could protect myself against it happening again. I got the funds back (but was not called or notified) - they also paid the amount back twice the first time and before I noticed (as I had no access to the account due to them cancelling my card and online banking) they took the money back - again without notifying me.
I have warned them on numerous occassions that they have been sending my bank statements back to my old address 16 months after happily sending them to the correct one but they have taken no action.
On Monday somebody has again managed to access my account via the phone and removed some £3600 from my account. They even managed to take money out of my ISA. I am still waiting for this to be resolved and needless to say have put the wheels in motion to change banks.
The inconvenience and stress this causes is unbelievable, am I entitled to compensation for their incompetence and lack of security?
