Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Last month Abbey charged me just of £700 in bank charges for ben over my overdraft and for bounced DD's. I don't always get paid on time from so i try not to do DD's where i can. I prefer to pay online banking or cash. Anyway i had a cheque in my account due to clear and my DD's came in before they the cheque cleared. However Abbey bounced everything 2wice, then charged me interest and charged me for going over my overdraft and more interest. The month before they took £250 in charges and the month before that just under £100! Now they want to take a further £200 for more charges, since my DD's bounced again as they took out the £700 from my account, i couldn't pay my mortgage DD and other stuff, so it had a huge knock on effect. Hope i am making sense. So in the space of 3mths they have had over a grand from me and still taking more!
This can not be right or fair! I wan to leave them. I have been with them since i was 15yrs and i am now 36!
I would spend about a week reading the different threads on CAG before starting your claim. There is some new template letters gonna be put up in Jan sometime cos of the recent court case that you probs heard about but the link below is the current ones.
Getting a new account at another bank should be a priority even if tis only a basic one. That way all your money is safe and if Abbey continue to add charges it won't affect you cos they will only have to pay you it all back when you eventually win your claim.
