Angry Unstated Charges Take Me Over Overdraft Limit - Now handled by Moorcraft! :(

To cut a long story short, I had opened and account, used the overdrafticon (£100), unstated charges for using the overdraft service sent me over the limit. Now demanding £257 from me and the debt is now being handled via Moorcroft who have been nothing but a nuisance calling at very bad times (past 9pm). I have paid the original amoutn that I borrowed, but I'm not willing to pay these charges because of their unstated overdraft charges. Heres a more detailed breakdwon of the matter:

·Opened an account before going university, asked to be given an overdraft, so was granted £100 overdraft. My student loan was not in yet so I had to rely on that for a week or 2.

·After it reached near -£100, I stopped using that account since my student loan was going to go into my Halifaxicon account.

·A very long time after, i receive a letter saying that my bank account is closed and I need to pay the outstanding amount of £247 pounds.
·Apparently, they charge a fee for using the overdraft service (a fee that i was not told about at all), and because of that my account went overdrawn and they started applying these charges.

·I protested against these charges on the phone since it was their charge that took my account being overdrawn. Also since I was not informed that my account had gone overdrawn & I received no statements during that time.

·I heard nothing back from them for a long while, then I get a message from Moorcroft Debt Recovery, that I have to pay £257. I called them and they said that the debt had been passed onto them.

·I made a payment of the real amount that I owed (around £90 that i had used from the overdraft) and since then, I received no letter from them confirming the payment had been made, I’ve only received calls at very late hours of the night (after 9) asking if I was in and to call them back (they didn’t even state who was calling, only MDR)

Can someone please tell me what the best route of action is for this case, and what I should do next, what my rights are etc? I’m 19 years old, so this is the 1st time something has happened to me, so I really don’t know what to do.

    Thank You
