Hi there,

I have an issue with Scottish Widows and their demutualisation with Lloydsicon back in 2000.
They have sent generic letters to lots of people saying cheques were issued in august 2000 so no compensation is due.

From my conversations with them i get the impression they have chosen this date to make it difficult for anyone to prove they did not receive a cheque in 2000.

They say the cheque issued to me was cashed in september 2000 but i have no knowledge of this, and they are not forthcoming with the info they have and will not provide a cheque number.

So my first step was to contact my bank at that time First Direct and ask for statements for september 2000 but i have met with the response that they can only supply statements back to august 2001.

Does anybody know if this is true or has anybody had statements going back further?

I stressed to them that i will be submitting a Subject access requesticon but they told me that would only include statements going back to august 2001

Any ideas about either the next step with Scottish Widows or how i can get statements from First Direct?

Thanks
