My wife defaulted on her lloydstsb crdeit card and has entered into an agreement with them to pay it back over a certain time period and they have frozen the interest.
She is now in a position to offer them a settlement for the full amount but when she rang the General Enquiries number she got through to the typical Indian Call centre where they are only authorised to offer a 2% discount on the outstanding balance.
I would appreciate any advice on how to get through to someone with authority to better this offer since obviously many debt management agencies seem to be able to negotiate much better terms.

No joy so far apart from ringing a DMC who have offered to approach Lloyds TSB for us and want £250 plus 10% of the discount negotiated which they seem to think could be as much as 50%.
I eventually decided to offer Lloyds TSB £3000 by way of a cheque from me in Full and final settlement of my wifes account (£5250).
They have now cashed the cheque and sent her a letter saying they cannot accept HER offer!
Also received in the post a letter saying they are dealing with a complaint on her behalf. When she rang up about this they wouldnt tell her who had raised the complaint ( although i had earlier been told it could have been a Lloyds employee complaining because the cheque had been cashed).
They also said they are within their rights to cash the cheque even though i had written on the back "Only to be cashed in full and final settlement of Account Number xxxxxx" !
