    Default Another Abbey blunder?

Either Abbeyicon or CDR (who they??)

Abbey have sold a debt of one Miss C who may or may not live in my area to CDR.

The reason I know is because CDR have sent her a letter to my address with the basic details clearly able to be viewed.

I have no idea who this poor woman is and she obviously has no idea her debt has been sold on and that they're pursuing the payment.

Now, I'll send this back of course but it will take some time for RM to return it. In the meantime, this poor woman could be defaulted or have even more debt piled on her account.

I'll write to Abbey - I may as well since they've probably sold my son's debt on and his letter may well have gone to someone else's address, and as I've already threatened them over their refusal to handle his complaint for several months, a bit more to beat them with won't hurt.

However, do I also send a photocopy of the outside of the letter (I haven't opened it obviously) to the fosicon as part of our complaint to demonstrate their general incompetence, or to the OFT as an example of shoddy practice and potentially damaging incompetence???

This debt is for a paltry amount too so are Abbey offloading their debt now they're no longer Abbey but something else?

I feel very strongly about this because the victim cannot prove that the letter was misdirected in the first instance and I cannot help her as I've no idea who she is.

Have you considered contacting the information commissioner with this complaint about Abbeyicon.

Advice is based on my personal opinion, and what I have learnt from this forum.
If you need legal advice please consider consulting a lawyer.
