Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I need some advice !
I sent my SAR letter and £10. Barclays have replied saying that the information prior to about 1 year ago is now kept on microfilm and therrefore does not fall within the dataprotection act. Therefore if I want these statements they will cost ne an extra £3 ea , thats £36 x 5 yrs.
Are they correct in saying this or do they have to give me 6 yrs info fro the £10?
THis is their standard response. Its a feeble defence designed to stop you progressing.
Send them the second letter from i think its in the Abbey thread called 'microfiche argument' just amend it to suit.
They will send you another letter saying they dont understand etc.
I just sent them another letter to confirm my thoughts about their letter see GLenn vs Barclaycard if youre interested.
I think its important you dont allow them to say you accepted thier arguments about the SAR and your rights because if you decide to take them to court for non-compliance they will use it agaisnt you and you will end up with more delays.

PS dont restrict yourself to 6 years ask for all the data. if you read through many of the threads it may be possible to go back further.

A quick question on S.A.R - (Subject access request) letter and the response i've had, if anyone can help.
Barclaycard have only sent me a few statements claiming that the rest are on microfiche and therefore I have to pay £3 for each satatement.
Is this correct or should they supply me with a list of cahrges in some format for £10?? covering 6 years
