am 1 year discharged bankrupt, checked my credit file via Wxperian and the only thing on file was the Egg card still???!!!! Even though this was included in my bankruptcy?!
It is marked as 'defaulted' but still shows i owe approx £7k.
I have heard nothing from anybody in the past couple of years regarding this.
It says default accounts removed after 6 years - is there anything i can do to remove or just have to sit tight?
What is the date of the default? If it's getting close to 6 years you might be just as well to ignore it rather than go through the hassle of getting it removed.

Presumably your bankruptcy is still on file anyway (will that drop off before or after the default?) so it's probably not making any difference.
However, if you're bored and need something to do, step 1 would be to write to Egg asking them to remove it as it's inaccurate. You don't owe them anything.
What's the date it was last updated?

I think a letter is called for. Send at least RD to Egg and copy to the CRA. Tell them the data is inaccurate as the debt no longer exists and ask them to remove it. Given that it's coming up to a holiday and you'll have better things to do anyway, I'd give them 28 days.

my apologies for appearing a little thick ,but i thought that when updating your credit reference files the file should state your br date against all debts and not later and remain there for 6yrs from the br date,if all the above is correct ?"Post bankruptcy question!" i went br dec 2008 so should i have just left my cred files alone as all the defaults are marked 2007 so i now will have longer to wait after they have been updated.??????
