Thread: MBNA "Associated Interest" ??

Hi

Does anyone know if the "associated interest" that MBNA offer when refunding is the same as the 8% the fos award?

The amount seems quite small and I just wanted to check before I go after them via the FOS.

You'd better ask them to specify as it could be just 1% knowing MBNA.

BTW If it turns out to be 8% that's exactly what the fos settles with.

I did try but they just said that's the way they work out interest. Maybe someone will come along and have had experience of this. Don't want to waste time with fos but it seems odd. Foe example on charges @ £280 they state the "associated interest" is £15.

Does that seem very low?

There's a general concensus that the fos are having the wool pulled over their eyes somewhat.
